<?xml version="1.0" ?><rss version="2.0"><channel><title>Balance - Jeannie Samson's Triathlon Blog</title><link>http://www.jeanniesamson.com/balance_-_jeannie_samsons_triathlon_blog.htm</link><description>Jeannie Samson</description><pubDate>Mon, 27 Nov 2006 00:00:00 GMT</pubDate><lastBuildDate>Fri, 13 Aug 2010 11:48:05 GMT</lastBuildDate><generator>Levelfield</generator><item><title>Stuffing More Than Just the Turkey....</title><guid>http://www.jeanniesamson.com/log/post_275973502_balance_-_jeannie_samsons_triathlon_blog.htm</guid><description>I hope all of you enjoyed the long Thanksgiving weekend.&amp;nbsp; I had a wonderful and relaxing time with my family!&amp;nbsp; I ate some things I wouldn't usually touch, and enjoyed every bite.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;I have gained a few pounds since my last race.&amp;nbsp; This happens to most athletes in their off season, as they don't learn how to change their eating to accomodate their reduced workload.&amp;nbsp; It also happens to most people I know during the holidays due to overeating, and less exercise.&amp;nbsp; Men and women in the United States especially get so stressed during the holidays with all the gift buying, parties, and travelling.&amp;nbsp; My automatic way of dealing with weight gain is to get upset and feel bad for a while until I get motivated again.&amp;nbsp; In the past that method didn't really work.&amp;nbsp; What has worked is to make a plan of eating.&amp;nbsp; Since I am back to training I must get enough fuel for my workouts, but if I plan everything I will have less snacking.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;Luckily&amp;nbsp;I just need some minor adjustments, and I am sure the pounds will come off.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;Believing I can do&amp;nbsp;it is the first step.&amp;nbsp; Since there is no better time than the present I am going to plan tomorrow right now.&amp;nbsp; I will keep you posted on how it's going.&amp;nbsp; HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!</description><pubDate>Mon, 27 Nov 2006 00:00:00 GMT</pubDate></item><item><title>Ready to get back to work!</title><guid>http://www.jeanniesamson.com/log/post_275973501_balance_-_jeannie_samsons_triathlon_blog.htm</guid><description>The last two weeks I have had time off from training.&amp;nbsp; My coach Siri told me to do almost nothing the first week (by Wednesday I was already going crazy), and just a little crosstraining this week.&amp;nbsp; She said no swimming, biking, or running this week - I didn't follow that today.&amp;nbsp; My husband Jude and I went to town lake and ran the 3 mile loop together at a slow pace.&amp;nbsp; We haven't done that (just the two of us) in more that 5 years!&amp;nbsp; It was so fun.&amp;nbsp; I have also been taking some time to write and edit articles for a fitness newsletter and a business magazine.&amp;nbsp; I would love to share my insights in to being a Mom and triathlete at a much larger scale!&amp;nbsp; Hopefully I will get to.&amp;nbsp; I look forward to starting training again next week&amp;nbsp; - it will be easy for a few weeks before hard training begins again.&amp;nbsp; Another year of adventure is right around the corner!</description><pubDate>Sun, 12 Nov 2006 00:00:00 GMT</pubDate></item></channel></rss>
