<?xml version="1.0" ?><rss version="2.0"><channel><title>Balance - Jeannie Samson's Triathlon Blog</title><link>http://www.jeanniesamson.com/balance_-_jeannie_samsons_triathlon_blog.htm</link><description>Jeannie Samson</description><pubDate>Fri, 2 Feb 2007 20:50:44 GMT</pubDate><lastBuildDate>Fri, 13 Aug 2010 11:48:03 GMT</lastBuildDate><generator>Levelfield</generator><item><title>Changing Gears....</title><guid>http://www.jeanniesamson.com/log/post_281113588_balance_-_jeannie_samsons_triathlon_blog.htm</guid><description>&lt;p&gt;Frequently when I am speaking to people about my training and racing, they ask how I have time to train with four kids.&amp;nbsp; Most mothers are baffled because they are constantly on the move and don't have ANY time to do something for themselves.&amp;nbsp; I feel I have been given a gift and it is my job to develop that as fully as possible - it is something I was meant to do.&amp;nbsp; I am blessed to have a husband extremely committed to my dream, a very supportive mother-in-law, and kids that are understanding of my training.&amp;nbsp; They know, however, that they are first on the list of things I am committed to!&amp;nbsp; The other day my six year old, Asha, was sick.&amp;nbsp; She was doing a bit better earlier in the day, so I got on my bike trainer for a long ride - I had a run scheduled right off the bike.&amp;nbsp; As I was getting off the bike, she told me she felt queasy.&amp;nbsp; The previous day this statement was followed by a large explosion (you know what I mean), so I immediately &amp;quot;changed gears&amp;quot; and told her I wasn't going to go out. &amp;nbsp; Instead I got creative and did running drills in place that took the same amount of time as the outside running would&amp;nbsp; have taken.&amp;nbsp; She told me later that she was happy that&amp;nbsp; I stayed with her, but she was also happy that I got my &amp;quot;running&amp;quot; done.&amp;nbsp; The drills were so&amp;nbsp;hard, &amp;nbsp;I had sore calf muscles for three days.&amp;nbsp; Changing&amp;nbsp;my workout&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;was the only right decision to make - I was there for my daughter, and I got to work muscles to help me run fast!&lt;/p&gt;</description><pubDate>Fri, 2 Feb 2007 20:50:44 GMT</pubDate></item></channel></rss>
