Solid Race in Ohio....

This past Sunday I had a race in Ohio. I was attempting to qualify for the 2008 World Championship in Vancouver. I was second overall. Only the top spot automatically qualified, but if the first place finisher doesn't take the spot, I would be happy to. I am very happy with my race overall, however. Mentally I was positive, focused, and stayed in the moment. I had a solid swim, a great bike on a flat course, and my run was slow, but I kept going strong. I need to work on my speed, as we leave for Germany in about two week, but I feel my health is good now. I will just do my best to get ready for my second Team USA experience!

Waiting for my energy to return.....

The last four days I have been having very low energy. A deep tiredness that I do not think is overtraining, but rather something else that I have not discovered yet. My coach (Siri) gave me a new schedule this week that included a lot more rest days and very light days. I am hoping it will help, but I am also seeking advice from my pharmacist, doctor, and other athletes that have experienced similar symptoms. I am doing my best to keep positive and confident that I can continue to train and be the best I can be, it will just have to wait until my body is ready for that to happen. Have a wonderful day!
