This week I started to train again.  I am on a fairly light schedule, but plenty of swimming, biking, and running to keep me in great shape.  Yesterday I had an AWESOME  bike session in my neighborhood.  I live in a great area of town that has some tough hills.  It was so fun to get out there and enjoy going FAST on my bike!!  Getting in the pool was great too - the water somehow just clears the mind and refreshes the body like nothing else.  THANKS for reading my blog!  I would love to hear from you if you have any comments!

One more thing,  I just wanted to shout out a BIG THANK YOU to George from Larabar for the products he has been sending me.  If you don't know about Larabars, they are the most natural and delicious nutrition bars out there - made only from dates, nuts, other fruit and spices.  JUST FABULOUS and healthy!  My favorite flavor is Apple Pie.  Visit www.larabar.com for more info.

I am feeling good after my big race, and have decided not to do any more triathlons this year.  I took one week off training, and am doing light exercise for a few weeks to recover from the season of hard work.  I have been spending more time with the kids and my husband, and putting in additional hours volunteering at our elementary school.  Aliya started Kindergarten a few weeks ago, and is doing ok.   She has shed some tears this past week from being tired and missing her Mom, but today was TEAR FREE!  Asha, David, and Shanti are all doing well in their new classes and schedules.  I have gotten lots of compliments on what great kids we have!  I already know that, but it's great to hear from others that all our hard work to do the right thing (not the popular thing) is paying off.
My time in Germany.....

Sunday was the 2007 ITU Age Group World Championship Triathlon in Hamburg, Germany.  Jude and I were able to get away together for  this great adventure.   I was very happy I bought two rain ponchos for the trip, as we used them in the cold, rainy weather the first two days we were there.  Hamburg is a great place, and we enjoyed seeing the city and meeting other athletes on Team USA.   I was very happy that the weather was good for race day - no rain and cool temperatures made for perfect conditions for racing.  The race was a success, as I went hard, kept a positive attitude, and had fun!  I was 9th in my age group and 85th overall.   My results were not what I had hoped for (I wanted to win my age group), but the experience was amazing, and once again I was so honored to represent the United States in another great race.  I am hopeful that I can improve next year in all the races that I do.
