Injury Update...Hope on the Horizon

Two weeks ago I decided to go to a new doctor!  For those of  you that live in Austin, I highly recommend Performance Wellness for your injury needs!  Dr. Chris Sellers and his team have addressed some underlying issues with my back that I was unaware of.  My sciatic nerve was pinched by reduced disc space between my tail bone and the first vertabrae on the low back.  Addressing that and increasing the natural curve in my back where I was TOO STRAIGHT has helped, and I have actually RUN on the treadmill two times this week!  Very exciting, but I  began yesterday to address some problems with my running form that contributed the injury in the first place.  VERY hard work, but hopefully it will be worth it.   Please send me your prayers and/or positive, healthy thoughts.  My goal is to be in great shape for the World Championship Triathlon in Vancouver at the beginning of June!
Not time yet....

Sincy my last blog I have continued to do my physical therapy exercises.  Although they bring temporary relief when I do them my injuries seem to return on a regular basis.  However, some days I do all the workouts my wonderful coach Siri has scheduled for me.  Those days are wonderful and challenging!  I am adding chiropractic and deep massage to my arsenal of healing methods to get me back to full time training.

I was reminded to be thankful for the gift of life from a friend that was in a serious bike accident last year.  Best wishes to my friend, fellow athlete, and mother of four Kathleen Allen for a complete recovery!!  She is in my prayers every day!
