Getting Healthy and Beginning Again....

One month ago I began Bikram Yoga at the studio on Hwy 360 across from Davenport Village in Austin.  I strongly believe that this is the BEST thing I can do right now to get my back strong and flexible.  Bikram Yoga is practiced in a room that is 105 degrees - it's 90 minutes of sweat and pain!  I absolutely love it, and realize how weak and tight my back really was!  I am improving fast, but still have a long way to go.   The instructors at the studio take the time to learn everyone's name and it feels almost like a personal session every time, as I get corrected a lot! Today I did a hard 2 hour bike session with my friend Karen Burks, who is VERY powerful on the bike these days!  It was the first time in many months I did a session like this - it was hard, but fun.  I have not been running much, but I think I will get back to it soon.  Triathlon has not been a priority this year, but hopefully 2009 will be my best  racing season ever!
