Balance - Jeannie Samson's Triathlon Blog
Day Off at the Farm This is the time of year I am starting to ramp up my training volume for the upcoming triathlon season. Workouts are sometimes long, but I am enjoying the warm Austin weather. Today, however, was a day off for me. These days are so important for my body and mind! They help keep me motivated and fresh. Today I went to Crowe's Nest Farm for my daughter Asha's first grade field trip. We saw a cow being milked, went on a hayride to see ostriches and their eggs, and looked at many other interesting and smelly animals. I brought Aliya (my four year old) along for the fun! The best part was being with my girls - I can't always go on these trips due to a heavy training schedule, but I really cherish the times when I get to go. I went to the farm with my daughter Shanti (12) and my son David (10) when they were in first grade. I was so excited to carry on the tradition at this wonderful place in Manor, Texas. Aliya wil register for Kindergarten in a few weeks. One more to go! |
