2006 Texas State Triathlon 2nd overall Texas State Triathlon- 2nd overall Texas State Tri - A chilly race morning was in the forecast, so I did not sleep well the night before.
I was so nervous about being chilled to the bone (I get cold easily). My lack of experience had me
plan as if I would be cold, so I put out a headband and sweatshirt to wear during the race after the
swim. I felt solid on the swim - my rubber cap made a huge difference in keeping me from getting
too cold in the water. In the first transition I put on all the warm gear - I turned out to be too much!
I was pretty hot by the end of the bike. I did not take the time to take it off in T2, so I was still a
bit warm on the run - I ran strong and had a good finish, but I think I would have done better with
less. Overall a good day - my placing was 2nd overall! | ||||||||
