For those of you who don't know me, I am a triathlete living in Austin, Texas. I am also the wife of a hard working software executive and a Mom of four amazing kids! In the pages of this website I have attempted to give you a glimpse of what my life is about, how I arrived here, and share my passion for my family and the sport of triathlon. Through my journey to be the VERY BEST I can be, I hope to inspire others, and to show that it IS possible to have kids, run a household, AND pursue things that YOU are committed to as an individual!
I love participating in this sport, and have come a long way - I hope to be lucky enough to keep it going for a long time to come! I encourage you NOW to begin a journey for yourself you have been afraid to pursue. Enjoy!

I’m sending this out to all my great girlfriends in hopes that you will be inspired to live your dream!
I think many of you know my dear friend Jeannie Samson . We’ve been friends for over 10 years. You may have met her at one of my parties, showers, or perhaps remember her from our wedding (she’s the one who sang “At Last” for our first dance). Or you may have just heard me talk about her, or maybe this is the first time you are meeting Jeannie. She is truly an amazing woman. Jeannie has 4 kids and somehow still finds time to live her dream!
I wanted to share Jeannie’s new website with you. Jeannie is a triathlete and is leaving next week for to compete in the Age Group World Championship Triathlon on September 2nd. She has worked so hard to get to where she is now, and I am so proud of her. (I love bragging on my friends!) Jeannie is largely responsible for teaching me the love of running (although I haven’t been doing it in a while…..shame on me). Early on in our friendship we spent many days running together around Town Lake . She and her now-husband Jude actually “talked” me through “how to run”. There is actually an art to it. Who knew?
Anyway, I am so inspired by Jeannie and whenever I am around her it just reminds me that anything is possible. She brings true the statement that my dad always told me as a kid……”You can do anything you want to if you just put your mind to it.” But he also always told me to “be careful what you wish for because you just might get it!”…..Hee Hee!
Whether you have kids or not, the importance of making time for yourself and pursuing your interests is real!
Now I gotta go get on that spin bike!!

Comment: Hi, I was just browsing the web when I just happened to come across your website and just had to write to you. It is wonderful reading some of the things on your site but what really caught my eye was how you say it is possible to pursue something even with a family. I have recently got married and will obviously want children soon (I am 32 so running out of time, all the people I speak to say that I will have to give up triathlon if I want a familybecause I won't have the time or the energy to continue. I have to say that it is nice to see someone who has four children yet manages to do triathlon. I have only been doing triathlon for three years and really don't want to give it up just yet!! I know that it will be hard to do triathlon Yours in Sport Rhian (now Roxburgh)

Comment: Jeannie, You rock. My wife and I did the event also and finished well behind you;however, we did finish.I will take training seriously this next year and hope to be able to compete with the likes of you.You should be very proud of what you have done. Training is nearly impossible with all of our grown up responsibilities.
